Ghosts are not welcome!

Don't ghost events, it's not cool. What's a Ghost? A person who attends a convention or event without paying for a badge. These are people who are present, but can't be accounted for. As an event run by broke college students we understand the plight of broke otaku. This year MikomiCon cut its price from $35 to $20, almost in half, yet many people thought that they could attend MikomiCon without paying for it. $20 for 3 days and children under 14 free is a great price and I can assure you that offering that rate means that we can not afford to have people ghost and continue the convention. So no more free entertainment all events that were in the plaza are going inside. Some people posted that because they didn't go inside didn't mean that their attendance was ripping off the convention. Wrong, it was. Even worst it was ripping off all the fans that support MikomiCon each year who paid their fair share of the costs of producing the convention. It's also a slap in the face of all the staff who work hard to make MikomiCon happen each year. It should also be mentioned that 80% of the costs of MikomiCon are paid by Nick who hopes each year to be paid back. None of the MikomiCon staff have ever been paid for their work, everyone donates their own time to the convention. We do it out of love and hope that all the wonderful people that have supported us in the past will continue to come and enjoy MikomiCore, and all of our Ghosts will come back to life (or face a never ending loop of Evanescence)

If you still cant afford to attend MikomiCore or any other convention, volunteer! All conventions need the extra help and MikomiCore is no different! Come up to the registration desk or sign up in advance!
